Diane Harvey welcomes you to Newbarn Country Cottages,
formerly a dairy farm but now primarily arable and extending to 240 acres,
lying to the south of the village in a sheltered valley below the wooded
slopes of the chalk downs which form the backbone of the Island. For those
who enjoy walking, Carisbrooke Castle is merely 3 miles to the north along
the Shepherd's Trail and many other walks can be started here, some enjoying
spectacular views over the Island and south coast of Dorset and Hampshire.
Some of the former dairy buildings situated around
the original farmyard have now been tastefully converted into high quality
holiday cottages for the discerning visitor. A small welcome pack awaits
you in each cottage and all will have beds made up for your arrival (cot
linen not provided). Towels are available for hire if required. The tariff
includes electricity and heating oil. In the interests of hygiene and
asthma sufferers, we do not allow pets in any of the cottages. We also
have a no smoking policy within the cottages. To facilitate cleaning,
guests are requested not to arrive before 3:30pm on day of arrival and
to vacate by 10am on day of departure. All cottages have ample parking and share a large grass play area.

The
Stable (originally horse stables and coach house) was the first
conversion, being completed in 1994. Completely on ground level
with only two steps and parking close to the main entrance, it is
suitable for the elderly, partially disabled or young families.
Accommodation is in one double room with
en-suite shower. One twin bedded room next to bathroom. Travel cot
and high chair available. The large kitchen/living room with colour TV leads onto
an enclosed patio. The kitchen is fully equipped with an extensive
range of units, oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer
etc. Heating by night storage heaters.
