Join the Havenstreet team on Mothering Sunday and treat you Mum to a relaxing day out. Each Mum taking a ride on the steam train will be given a lovely bunch of spring flowers to bring that added sparkle to the day!

The CBK Grand National and Ashey Scurry takes place at West Ashey Farm in Ryde. You can go along by train from the IW Steam Railway or take the car along and park! It's fun for all the family!

A great way to celebrate Easter with the children, with an Easter Treasure Hunt, Colouring and Crafts and an Easter Bonnet Parade every day at 1.45pm

20th April to 22nd April

This 3 day festival celebrates music, film, drama, art, photography and much much more. Dotted around Ventnor town, there is a chance for all visitors and locals to join in the various workshops and watch the headline events.

Come along to Robin Hill for the Spring Garden show at the end of April in 2012. The ever popular show is back for another year and will be sure not to disappoint!

Watch your favourite trains go by or take a journey through the countryside whilst relaxing with one of your favourite tipples! With Beers sourced from local island brewers and from around the country, there is free admission and a Haven Falconry display each day.

The Isle of Wight festival takes place every year at Seaclose Park, and attracts some of the biggest names in music, as well as a number of "Festival Goers." 2012 is set to be no exception, with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band headlining on the Sunday Night. 30th June 2012

This one day Yacht Race sees over 1,700 boats set sail from Cowes and race around the Isle of Wight back to the start line. You can see the race taking place from most coastal places, but some excellent views can be seen from Fort Victoria in Yarmouth, The Needles at Alum Bay, the viewpoint above Blackgang Chine, Ventnor seafront and Culver Cliff between Sandown and Bembridge. So pack a Picnic and enjoy the Race!

30th June to 1st July

Its back to the 1940's for a weekend of music, dance, military machines and wartime activities all taking place at the hustle and bustle of a country railway station here on the Isle of Wight!

6th July to 8th July 2012

Visit the Isle of Wight Steam Railway for a very different festival. Kicking off on the Friday this weekend is action packed with live music and bands, morris dance displays and children's events. This will be fun for all the family!

20th July to 22nd July 2012

This small music festival takes place near Calbourne, and is held over three days displaying a wide range of music and instruments. This is one of the only festivals on the Isle of Wight where you will hear didgeridoo's, beat-boxers, bhangra, Latin, reggae, folk, rock and hip all in one evening! 

21st July to 24th July

Thomas the Tank Engine arrives at The Isle of Wight Steam Railway for 4 days this summer, and what better way for the children to start their summer holiday break!? Enjoy a wide variety of events and activities over these special days, and meet some of the Thomas the Tank Engine Family. Its fun for all the family so pack a picnic and bring the whole family with you.

Steps are the first act to be announced at the Osborne House Summer Concert! They have reunited after a 10 year break and are coming to the Isle of Wight with Dance routines a-plenty!

With free entry why not dress up and come along to Fort Victoria for a day of Pirate activities. Help the pirates smuggle stolen goods, learn of the sailors and pirates law and order and watch the Pirate duels and raids!

A special festival for all VW enthusiasts, and the family, this weekend is a chilled and laid-back one, with live music, entertainers and a themed night on the Saturday. So come along, join them for a fantastic drive out and bring your own VW.

Rediscover a forgotten world of Sherlock Holmes, steam train travel and Victorian maids. With fabulous shows and acts, stalls offering Victorian treasures and a trip down memory lane its set to be a brilliant weekend!

The Isle of Wight is renowned for its annual Cowes Week event. With up to 40 daily races and around 1,000 boats taking part this is one of the world’s oldest and largest events of its kind! Not only is there plenty to take part in at sea there is also plenty to join in with on land! The town of Cowes really does come alive with over 100,000 spectators and 8,500 sailors, come and see for yourself!

Come along on the 12th August for the123rd anniversary of the first Ventor Carnival! This is the second oldest carnival in England and takes place during the Ventor Fringe Festival week. 

15th August to 18th August 2012

This is the Isle of Wight's answer to the Edinburgh Fringe. Its is an open arts festival where artists from all over the world perform and experiment with their work. This new festival, in its third year in 2012 is set over four days in and around Ventnor at various locations, so come and support not only some home talent but those from abroad as well!

18th August to 19th August 2012

One of Britain’s best food festivals, the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival is returning for another fantastic weekend. With over 300 stalls and attractions there’s something for all the family. The main theme is of course Garlic, but come along and find a wide variety of local fresh produce, live entertainment, a huge funfair and then relax in the Tea Tent after all the fun you've had. 

18th August to 25th August

The carnival takes place around Yarmouth Town, and it is a fun week held for all the family. So no matter what age there is something for everyone!

24th August to 27th August

Come along for this action packed weekend at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. With shows from Mr Alexander's Travelling Show with some astounding acts, or a little indulgence in the Sanctuary, to traditional fairground rides and of course the steam train ride through the countryside. There's something for everyone on this August bank holiday weekend.

6th September to 8th September 2012

The multi-award winning Bestival on the Isle of Wight takes place at Robin Hill from the 6th to the 8th of September. With this being the end of the major summer festival season join in the fancy dress theme and listen to some truly great acts in the music industry.

Little Britain Challenge Cup Regatta is a sailing regatta for the construction industry. There are over 3000 competitors making it another big sailing event right in the heart of the Isle of Wight. Cowes is once again transformed both in land and at sea and is another busy sailing event not to be missed!

22nd September to 30th September 2012

The Isle of Wight Cycling festival takes place in 2012 from the 22nd-30th September. With plenty of tracks and events suitable for all the family or the keen rider this weekend is full of fun for all ages and abilities.

26th October to 29th October

The Autumn Walking Weekend is another weekend dedicated to some breathtaking walks through the Isle of Wight. Its not quite as big at the Summer festival but is set to be another brilliant weekend for all the family, with plenty of walks to take part in.
