We have had perfect halloween weather on the Isle of Wight with spooky misty conditions.
There has been lots to amuse halloween followers from the spooky castle at Carisbrooke.
You could have downloaded the Isle of fright app for all the events, as the Isle of Wight turned itself into the Isle of Fright.
Some of our guests visited the steam railway for a scary ride with a skeleton appearing at their window. The steam railway has lots of special events, so look at the website for their special events and in particular the Santa specials.
For me it was a visit on the downs to appreciate the morning sun clearing the sea mist, and Sunday proved a glorious day with lunch outside- quite something for November but the Island is surrounded by warm sea to keep temperatures up.
The autumn colours have been magnificent so to me a misty morning, leaves dropping and the low gentle sun makes this time of the year so special.
in fact now could be the best time to visit the Isle , with fewer visitors and the autumn colours lasting a few more weeks.
The warm air did bring in the mist, but both days it has cleared to provide the most magnificent light conditions.
In fact there used to be annual photographic courses run at one of our members establishments and they chose November as having the best light and sky effects.
So come and see the skies for yourself ! Don’t be worried about rain. We had just 10 days in October when any rain was recorded and only two really wet days. In any event the skies can be more dramatic, and the log fire appreciated even more.
