A Wight Christmas approaching.

isle of wight manors and farms in wonderful scenery within the AONB

As the Wight Christmas approaches there are so many special events being lined up for an Isle of wight christmas.

Heading the list might be Osborne House who have their Christmas gift shop open from November 2nd to 23rd December.

The highlight however are the festive tours on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays until December 30th.

Then there are the Christmas wreath making demonstations on Friday December 11, The Victorian Christmas special on december 5th and 6th, and Mrs. Beeton’s Victorian Christmas on 12th-13th and 19th-20th.

Another highlight are the Santa Specials and New Year specials on the Isle of Wight steam railway – see steam railway for the details. on 26th December there is also a mince pie special with free mince pie and drink for all.

If you are a Christmas tree expert see The Brighstone Christmas tree festival for over 180 themed Christmas trees , in several churches and halls in the parish.

There are too many Christmas specials in all the pubs and restaurants to name, but you can even enjoy a festive ferry crossing with red funnel.

The garlic farm is one of our members and offers garlicky Christmas gifts and a great lunch or coffee and a chance to see red squirrels on their feeder.

If you want a pre Christmas warm up, there are many concerts . Ryde chorus have services of carols for all, and camerata, orpheus have concerts as well. The Isle of Wight Music centre gives all our concerts.

For excitement come to the murder mystery on December 5th at Northcourt , or how about one of Marc Tuckey’s ghost walks   to get the circulation going !  But the best way to do that is to go for a really good walk to one of our country pubs and enjoy a log fire.

Most if not all our members have log fires or woodburners and can supply logs for your enjoyment.

We walked around Appuldurcombe Park  Godshill to The taverners on wednesday and had a great venison pie, and muddly boots and dogs all welcome.

What better place to enjoy the festive season than the Isle of wight for a white Christmas !
